1. Driver Requirements & Qualifications

To rent and operate a vehicle from CebuCarRent, the driver must meet the following criteria:

• Age Restriction: Driver must be at least 21 years of age.
• Driver's License: Must possess a valid Philippine Driver’s License or a valid Foreign Driver’s License with a code/restriction permitting four-wheel motor vehicles. Foreign licenses are valid in the Philippines for up to 90 days after arrival.
• Identification: A valid passport or government-issued photo ID must be presented upon vehicle handover.

2. Rental Period & Extensions

• Rental Duration: The standard daily rental rate applies to a 24-hour period from the time of pickup or delivery.
• Late Returns: Unannounced late returns will incur a fee of ₱300 per hour. Delays exceeding 3 hours will be charged as a full extra day.
• Extensions: If you wish to extend your rental, you must notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled return time, subject to vehicle availability.

3. Security Deposit & Payments

• Payment Methods: Full rental payment is required before or upon vehicle handover via GCash, credit/debit card, bank transfer, or cash.
• Security Deposit: A refundable security deposit (amount specified during booking/checkout based on vehicle category) and/or a valid original ID must be deposited upon pickup.
• Deposit Refund: The security deposit will be refunded in full upon return of the vehicle, provided there is no damage, missing accessories, or unpaid traffic violations.

4. Vehicle Usage & Restrictions

Renters agree to adhere to all local laws and the following conditions:

• Seatbelt Law: Wearing seatbelts is mandatory for driver and passengers under Philippine law (RA 8750).
• Prohibited Uses: Vehicles must not be used for racing, off-road driving, illegal transport, overloading beyond seating capacity, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Geographic Limits: Vehicles are permitted for use within Cebu Island only. Ferry transport to other islands (such as Bohol or Leyte) without prior written authorization is strictly prohibited.
• Authorized Drivers: Only the registered driver listed on the agreement is permitted to operate the vehicle.

5. Fuel & Maintenance

• Fuel Policy: The vehicle will be provided with fuel and must be returned with the same fuel level. A refueling fee will apply if returned with less fuel.
• Routine Checks: The renter is responsible for monitoring basic vehicle status (e.g., tire pressure, oil levels, coolant, dash indicators) during long rentals.

6. Damages, Accidents, & Theft

• Pre-Rental Inspection: Both parties will inspect the vehicle before handover and document any existing scratches, dents, or interior wear.
• Renter Liability: The renter is fully liable for any new cosmetic damage, mechanical failure caused by misuse (e.g., misfueling), missing parts, or total loss/theft occurring during the rental period.
• Accident Reporting: In case of an accident or collision, the renter must immediately notify CebuCarRent and local traffic police authorities to file an official police report for insurance claims.

7. Traffic Violations & Fines

The renter is fully responsible for all traffic fines, parking violations, towing charges, or LTO/NCAP electronic traffic penalties incurred during the rental duration.
